Performance Plastics is located in the heart of Cincinnati, Ohio, and has an exciting career opportunity in the area of Injection Molding Maintenance Technician. We are looking for someone who has exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving skills and can work with cross functional groups and manage multiple open priorities.


Some of the duties include:

  • Capable of performing high level maintenance tasks on Injection Molding Machines and Equipment as well as on all building and production support equipment including Hot Runner Heaters, Chillers, Oil Heaters, Water Tower, Compressors and other Auxiliary Equipment.
  • Must be familiar with and be able to properly use the correct basic hand maintenance tools as well as experience with basic machining.
  • Welding experience a plus
  • Operates drill press, bench grinders, power tools, machining tools, etc.
  • Possess above average electrical skills and an understanding of PLC's. Capable of wiring devices and monitoring PLC functions.
  • Reads and uses maintenance manuals, schematics, blueprints, drawings, parts manuals, catalogues and other maintenance literature. Able to assist others and direct others in use of said documents.
  • Uses testing equipment and measuring devices to verify tolerances, check dimensions, troubleshoot and maintain machine consistency. Calipers, Micrometers, Bore Gauges, etc
  • Operates a forklift, man lift and cranes and hoists.
  • Uses communication skills to maintain the maintenance computer log, machine records and other documentation required on all production and associated equipment. We use MVP Plant system.
  • Understands and practices all aspects of industrial maintenance safety.
  • Plans and performs plant preventative maintenance.
  • Trouble shoot and repair equipment
  • Maintain the area and equipment to provide the team with an organized workplace and proper tools
  • Perform problem-solving to develop corrective actions or to initiate continuous improvement
  • Must be familiar with an ISO manufacturing setting.
  • Functional understanding of blueprint reading and tolerance practices.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and Windows applications.
  • Good communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented with good organization and prioritizing skills.
