Job Description

The Department of Residence Life is responsible for coordinating the renovation, maintenance and management of several categories of facilities, all designed to provide on campus housing for over 1500 students. As a plumber you should be able to perform semi-skilled duties in the installation, maintenance, and repair of air, gas, water and waste disposal systems and may include the advanced phase of on-the ?job training. Assignments are received from supervisor and an employee in this class will be guided in the principles and techniques until he masters the work involved. The degree of supervision received will vary depending upon the variety of the assignments and the person?s aptitude and ability to acquire the skills required. Upon satisfactory completion of the various assignments, employee will be expected to qualify for journey level assignments. Work will be reviewed by supervisor to determine that the employee understands the basic principle and techniques, as well as for the satisfactory completion of assignments. Residence Life personnel are considered essential employees during emergency conditions. This position reports to the Residence Life Facilities Maintenance Supervisor High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
