Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a 1st shift Process Maintenance Technician Lead in Mossville, IL! Typical work schedule is Monday ? Friday, 6:00am ? 2:30pm; hours may vary based on business demand.

This manufacturing maintenance technician is responsible for providing an advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance on the process / production equipment in an industrial environment. Must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair all automation equipment and PLC controlled equipment, such as conveyors, lathes, and horizontal and vertical boring machines and machining centers. Performs preventive maintenance, specks materials, estimates jobs, and any other duties as assigned by the management team.

As a lead technician, this position is also responsible for providing leadership to the maintenance staff and directing the daily workflow of the team. Provides instruction and assistance to other technicians as needed. Must be self-motivated and demonstrate the strong organizational/time management skills needed to be successful in this role.

The Production Maintenance Technician Lead must have the ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures. General Maintenance of equipment will also be required.


+ Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs process/production machines, equipment and related equipment as necessary.

+ Utilizes strong mechanical and electrical skills in order to complete assignments.

+ Performs preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

+ Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.

+ Develops and monitors work assignments for other technicians and coaches as appropriate.

+ Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.

+ Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.

+ Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems

+ Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.

+ Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.

+ Exhibits strong leadership skills, such as motivation, delegation, ownership, leading by example, well-developed organizational skills, excellent communication skills, etc.

+ Able to utilize Time Management Principles for effective workforce planning and accomplishing strategic benchmarks outlined by site management group.

+ Promotes and adheres to the AECOM Safety Structure.

+ Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.




Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

1. High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

2. Five years of experience performing electrical or mechanical maintenance on industrial production equipment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

3. Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.

+ This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client?s location.

+ This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.

Physical Requirements:

+ Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

+ Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.

+ Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.

+ Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.

+ Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

+ Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

+ Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

+ Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

+ Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

+ Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

+ Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

Special Requirements:

+ Wear steel toe electrical safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

+ Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience leading or supervising a team of maintenance technicians in an industrial environment.

2. Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

3. Strong mechanical skills and experience.

4. Intermediate electrical skills

5. Experience troubleshooting and maintaining valves, pumps, actuators, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, steam systems, etc.

6. Experience troubleshooting low voltage control systems.

7. Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing PLCs.

8. Experience troubleshooting and repairing robotics system.

9. Experience working in a CMMS environment.

Other Attributes:

+ Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
