We have a state of the art facility with 3 large HPP 525 machines that uses non-thermal, high power pressure on fresh food and beverage products that are already packaged. The Maintenance Mechanic troubleshoots, maintains, and makes repairs to all equipment throughout the Facility including, but not limited to HPP Machines, ice making machine, packaging and processing equipment. Responsible for the day-to-day troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs located within, a chilled food factory. Complies with all USDA regulatory requirement, company rules and regulations, food safety, GMP, SOP and all Safety Requirements. The Maintenance team is tasked with keeping operations running efficiently, with a minimum amount of down time in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
Requirements/Skills/Knowledge: 3+ years of formal mechanical / electrical education certificate or equivalent work experience doing maintenance work, in a chilled fresh food environment.
Electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in a chilled food environment.
Apprenticeship or related education helpful.
Knowledge of PLC's and common equipment and machinery used in a food factory
Must be able to perform basic electrical/mechanical work (ex. change pump motors, diagnose motor control problems, etc.).
Must be capable of using a wide variety of hand and power tools safely. Able to PM a variety of equipment to identify any abnormal conditions and maintain appropriate records.
Must be able to gather analyze and process information and arrive at a sound rational conclusion while working under pressure. Able to perform routine repairs in a safe and timely fashion.
Ability to follow process control computer variables, schematics, and diagnose system problems.
Good interpersonal skills necessary to foster cooperation and effectively communicate with others.
Must be able to communicate, read and write in English. Able to work Overtime as needed.
Must maintain a clean work environment and use proper personal protective equipment. Routinely works in a cold, wet environment.
Prolonged standing, walking, reaching, bending, grasping etc. is routinely required.
Subject to loud noise and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Hearing protection and all PPE is provided.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures that all equipment is operating effectively and efficiently. Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs all machinery and equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance and/or repairs of production and processing equipment as well as utility related equipment, following all safety procedures.
Controls downtime by informing production/ processing workers of repair progress and estimated down time. Ensures all repairs are documented and what corrective action was taken.
Required to adjust devices and control instrumentation. May assist the operators by demonstration of protocol, procedures or instruction to minimize equipment downtime.
Follows all required safe work practices. This includes lockout tag-out requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
