Must operate with a high degree of proficiency with little or no supervision, particularly as such involves the specific trade area. Required to work independently in carrying out generalized instructions pertaining to operations of the Maintenance Department under the direction of management. Must read and interpret blue prints, drawings and manuals. Must lay out work and estimate materials and costs. Must be skilled in the use of instruments, tools and equipment of the specific trade and be moderately skilled in the use of tools of various trades. Must be able to design, build, construct, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, set up or adjust machinery, equipment, parts, vehicles or structures. Will be assisting in working on preventative maintenance on machinery. Ability to work an alternative work schedule and shifts. Maintain records and inventories as required and keep an orderly and clean work area. Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned. Must be a motivated team player
  • Strong technical and ability to work independently
  • Must have a 2 year technical degree in a related field or equivalent on the job experience
  • Must possess a high level of machine troubleshooting ability in a manufacturing environment including but not limited to: Allen Bradley PLC's, Frequency Drives, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Servo Motors, Refrigeration systems (NH3), Boiler systems, and HVAC systems.
  • Food Manufacturing experience, Sanitary Design experience, and knowledge of SIX SIGMA techniques such as 5-S would be a plus.
  • Take initiative to continue to learn processes, procedures, etc. in area
  • Required to learn and operate all equipment in area
  • Must have effective positive leadership and communication skills by utilizing Dale Carnegie skills
  • Willing to gain knowledge of GMP's and regulatory requirements in manufacturing
  • Demonstrate ability to use sound judgment in making Safety, Quality and Technical decisions.
  • Willing to gain knowledge of plant processes and equipment function.
  • Willing to learn SAP / LEDS / Infinity and able to demonstrate ability
  • Willing to learn staffing requirements for all processing areas
  • Willing to learn processing / formulation of plant products
  • Must maintain good attendance record
