Gerresheimer Medical Plastics Systems is seeking an experienced Injection Molding Maintenance Technician to join the team in Peachtree City, GA. This is a night shift job from 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM. Employee works two (2) days, then two (2) days off, three (3) days on, two (2) days off, two (2) days on, and lastly three (3) days off. The (2:2:3) schedule cycle repeats, unless a company holiday or there is scheduled time off. Based on schedule cycle, employees are off every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Our shift - Maintenance Technician works an average of 15-16 days per month.

The Maintenance Technician will act as the first line in trouble shooting and repair of plastic injection molding equipment. In addition, this Technician will foster an environment of continuous improvement and team work.

Requirements: Education, Experience

  • High School Diploma.
  • Requires a minimum of 2+ years maintenance/technical experience within a plastic injection molding facility.
  • Requires a minimum of 1+ year mechanical/electrical experience.
  • Requires a minimum of 1+ year general preventative maintenance experience in injection molding industry. Medical industry preferred.
  • Prior diagnostic/troubleshooting and preventative experience required.
  • Ability to read blue prints, manufacturer's specifications and schematics.
  • Required to supply hand tools.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to interface constructively and cooperatively with a wide variety of departmental staff and intra-department personnel.
  • Experienced knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice within the Medical or Food Industry preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast paced operational environment with constant interaction with operators, technicians and equipment.
  • Experience in problem solving and trouble shooting of automation, process, and supporting equipment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and capable of completing projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities: Roles, Tasks

MECHANICAL AND ELECTROMECHANICAL EQUIPMENT

  • Troubleshoot/repair/replace/maintain: Motors, brakes, gears, gearbox reducers, belts, sheaves/pulley, chains and sprockets, cams, seals and O-rings, bearings, bushings, couplings, shafts, motors and valves (cut-off, pressure relief, etc.), Perform basic alignment.
  • Maintain couplings and fans on motors.
  • Install/maintain valves (cut-off, pressure relief, etc.).

PNEUMATIC/HYDRAULIC EQUIPMENT

  • Troubleshoot/repair/replace cylinders and pneumatic/hydraulic motors.
  • Troubleshoot/repair/replace/maintain hydraulic systems, pumps and valves.
  • Troubleshoot/repair/replace pneumatic/hydraulic lines, hoses, and solenoids.
  • Troubleshoot/repair/replace flow controls (pneumatic or hydraulic).

CONVEYING SYSTEMS

  • Troubleshoot/repair/replace/maintain vibratory, vacuum pumps, belt conveyor systems, linear motion and material conveying systems.

PUMPS SYSTEMS AND MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT

  • Troubleshoot/maintain centrifugal, vacuum, gear, diaphragm, positive displacement and metering pumps.
  • Perform alignment on belts, chains, and motors.
  • Maintain heat exchanger and pipe insulation systems.

MECHANICAL OPERATIONS

  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks, sheet metal fabrication, pipefitting duties and rigging tasks.
  • Perform basic math operations.
  • Operate common hand and power tools, use measuring devices and precision devices.

ELECTRICAL, POWER DISTRIBUTION AND ELECTROMECHANICAL SYSTEMS

  • Apply knowledge of AC/DC theory and run wire and conduit.
  • Install/repair basic AC and DC controls, building electrical systems.
  • Operate electrical test equipment.
  • Fabricate/retrofit electrical control panels.
  • Repair ground fault detection systems.
  • Repair/replace low voltage transformers
  • Repair/replace AC/DC motors, starters and relays.

MACHINE AND PROCESS CONTROLS

  • Modify ladder logic and edit PLC software.
  • Troubleshoot/replace/install circuit boards.
  • Install/maintain/troubleshoot photo eyes and basic VFD drives (Variable Frequency Drive).
  • Install/maintain/troubleshoot limit and proximity switches & bar code readers.
  • Calibrate/install/repair basic flow and density, temperature, pressure transmitters, gages and switches
  • Calibrate proportional control valves and process control loop (PID).
  • Install/calibrate load cells.
  • Troubleshoot/replace transducers.
  • Align and replace photo eyes.

AUTOMATION

  • Troubleshoot/repair/replace/maintain robots.
  • Troubleshoot/repair/replace/maintain cams, grippers, suction cups, etc.
  • Design/FAB/troubleshoot end of arm tooling
  • Program pick/place points.

GENERAL

  • Setting the example for professionalism in all activities.
  • Maintain housekeeping of work area.
  • Consult and work with direct manager on all technical issues.
  • Notify direct manager of any non-standard or sub-performance operational issues as well as quality and safety issues.
  • Ensure safety adherence.
  • Ensure that established policies, procedures, rules and regulations are understood and followed.
  • Participate in all training programs.
