Job Summary:

Responsible for leading a team of Java Full stack Developers working on all the MDU initiatives. Responsible to manage the team in all the phases of the software development life cycle such as planning, designing, implementation and testing the MDU applications. Help develop and implement strategies to improve the performance of the application. Works with leaders and individual contributors to ensure all applications meet project specifications and requirements. Provides leadership and direction for diverse and complex functions. Helps interpret business strategy and develop organizational objectives to align with this strategy. Typically manages multiple teams of professionals.

Technical Skills:

-Strong background on Java, J2EE , HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, JSP, Servlets, JPA and Hibernate
-Strong background on Spring, Spring boot and microservices
-Strong background on Restful webservices, SOAP and Retrofit framework
-Strong background on SQL like Oracle and NOSQL like Dynamo DB, Mongo DB databases
-Working experience on IDE's like Eclipse and IntelliJ is required
-Strong background in MVC-based application architecture is preferred.
-Working experience on Unit and Integration testing & Performance Monitoring.
-Agile experience is preferred
-Working experience on Cloud Foundry is preferred.
-Working experience on version control systems like GIT ,SVN is mandatory
-Working experience over CICD tools like Jenkins
-Basic knowledge on AWS, containerization & ECS deployments

Core Responsibilities:
-Oversees the planning and designing of software applications, including new programs, enhancements, and modifications.
-Partner with business stakeholders to ensure alignment and drive product development
-Provides guidance to Software Engineering team and other departments in identifying product and technical requirements. Serves as primary point of contact and liaison between Software Engineering and other teams.
-Directs implementation initiatives for new software products and applications. Organizes software update process for existing applications and coordinates the roll-out of software releases.
-Manages to the entire SDLC, including development, testing, code promotion and warranty support for the product in production.
-Manages all the deliverables to ensure adherence to deadlines, specifications, and budgets.
-Implements performance metrics and prepares periodic reports. Monitors and tracks project progress and reports findings to leadership team.
-Ensures all engineers keep current with technological developments within the industry. Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products.
-Develops proposals, hardware/software changes and other capital expenditure projects.
-Promote a DevOps culture-where the team is expected and empowered to own each aspect of the development, promotion and operation of their code.
-Manages professional and non-exempt employees, conducting work performance reviews and Ensures work performance is adhering to Company standards. Mentors, trains and develops staff.
-Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
-Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
-Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Specification:

-Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
-Computer Science, Engineering preferred
-Generally requires 8-11years related experience
-Experience managing web or cloud-based applications a plus
